Harold Camping

Many people have probably heard about Harold Camping, he is an old guy who has this idea that the world was gonna end at 6:00 on saturday. Now I was thinking that maybe a rapture wouldn't be to bad if I got out of finals, but I know that he was wrong, the bible says that, for one thing, no one will know when Jesus will come, and the sunday law hasn't been made yet. I do not believe that he was right, and I think that he was saying the wrong things if the world was ending.
I believe that is the world were ending, that Harold Camping should have been trying to convert people so that they were able to be saved, instead of just saying, the world is going to end. I think that Harold Camping would have been smart to not talk about this again after his previous failure with the prediction in 1994. If he thinks that he will get it right if he keeps guessing, then he is wrong.
He has no substantial proof that it will happen, otherwise it would have. I think that he should have backed up his statements with evidence, and that people should have demanded evidence before blindly following him like lemmings and giving him millions of dollars. Now the world thinks that he and all of the christians are crazy, that the bible is all lies, and that anything we say is probably not true. Thanks Mr. Camping!
You would think that if you failed at something, you wouldn't make the same mistake again, but I guess your not Mr. Camping then, are you. He foolishly predicted the same thing in 1994, and IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!!!!! Now he is trying to say it again and guess what IIT DIDN'T HAPPEN AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT IS THIS GUYS PROBLEM, IT DOESN'T WORK SO YOU DO IT AGAIN.

Random Subject

A random subject is what I will talk about today, since I haven't been thinking about this. Hmmmm, aha, Google for story. It was the 14th of May in the year 2121, the day of the attack, the aliens were finnally done negotiating. The earth was overrun in a few hours, the entire army invading the planet. People were frantically trying to stop them from taking the safehouses, and barely doing so. All of the world's major countries evacuated their leaders, into space with a minimal crew. A colony on the moon was the stopping point for anyone else, but the leaders were sure that it would be next. They stopped for fuel and supplies, but then returned to flying away from earth.
They all made it to the outer most colony that we had, the asteriod belt station. It was a far out stop, where all probes were now launched from, it had unlocked human travel to the gas giants. Now only a few people were there, and it was in a bad state, meant only for survival, since the aliens had interfered very soon after it's completion. When the leaders landed, they were welcomed and given quarters, but they were told that the station wasn't prepared to sustain that many, and the small farm that was there couldn't possibly make food enough for all of them. 10 world leaders and 13 crew men were there, and the station could only sustain a maximum of 16 or 17 people.
The crew manning the station was slowly expanding the base with the minerals that it could mine, but it would be a long time till it could be classified as a colony and begin to let people move to it. The people there consulted, and figured a way that 20 people could stay there, they dismantled most of the escape rockets, and worked on finishing the expansion to allow that many people there, while the 3 most influential leaders (American, Chinese, and British) set off again, with all the supplies that the station could spare. They went past the dwarf planet Pluto, and set off for the Andromeda galaxie. There supplies ran out as they reached it's outer most point. They searched for days for the right star.
They finally found the one they were looking for, and as there fuel ran dry, they pulled into it's orbit, they looked for the orbital station. It was a black ops type station, that was unknown to anyone besides the highest diplomats. It was secretly assembled in a very secretive way, and was the biggest attempt to interstellar colonization ever know. The station was in far orbit of the sun, and looked alot like the death star without it's laser, and it was smaller. It held 10 people, with capacity for 30, when the aliens were contacted and shipments stopped to avoid leading them to the station. They entered it's docking facilities, and looked around for anyone there. They searched all the hallways and rooms, and found nothing until the control room. They found the computer and looked for a log, the log read 'May 10, 2121: It is hard to sustain ourselves, we cannot make enough food, there are 15 people here, and they are eating more than expected. In addition to that, to power our station, the ethanol engines are using more food than usual, the station is failing in all scans for habitable planets, but we feel that there is no choice. We are leaving now to go to a planet that MIGHT be habitable, if not then we will return, in case we do not return, and the people of earth try to come here, our location that we are going to is 25 AU away from the station, going away from the sun. Good luck.'
The leaders take the supplies that they can from the farm, and rest. They refuel their ships and prepare to head for the planet. As they are going towards the planet's approximate coordinates, they try to scan for a planet, all they can do to find it is not working, so they radio each other and discuss going back to the station. They decide to not to and they stay going towards the coordinates. They reach were the planet should be, but find nothing, they pilot around a little, but cannot find anything. They decide to scan one more time before going back. They find a reading coming from a planet near a star close to the coordinates, so they fly to it. They reach it, and find that it is the aliens planet. They land, and find that half the city is burning uncontrollably and that the solar radiation is to great. They are about to open the doors, and try to make peace, when the planet moves suddenly away from the sun and into a wormhole type thing. They are each praying to their collective gods when they popout at the other end.
They find earth, it is right beside them, and it is pulling them into it's gravity, but the sun takes the planet and hurtles the alien's planet away from the earth. The humans take off again and land on the earth, and find an alien colony there, they see that the humans are also there outside of it, talking with the aliens. They walk into the colony and ask the alien leader, what happened. they say that the alien's sun was going supernova and that they were trying to make room for their population. They have some colonies around the world with aliens there, and that the rest of the population is on the planet putting out the fires. The aliens made room, and now they are letting the humans live in peace.
Well, I do not think that this is a religious story, but it is interesting, and can be looked at through a religious lens. It can sound like, perhaps the aliens were searching through the whole universe and found the one hope for their kind, earth. They moved there and now live with us, and we are their saviors. I really do not know what this should be, but am interested to think if any has a good idea for this, if you do, email me with what you think this could mean.

Dimensions

I always thought that the different dimensions of the universe were interesting. Such as the 2nd dimension, or 'flat land'. The third dimension is all that we see in, but there are other dimensions. Why can't there be a 7th dimension, or a 195th dimension. So, why couldn't heaven be a dimension? It could be the 777th dimension, and perhaps, the rest of God's creations besides man, live in the other dimensions. All of this is speculation, but it leads to an interesting point, what is heaven?
Heaven has been said to be on top of a bunch of clouds. It has also been said to be a golden city in space, just floating. It is said to be on another planet, or at the center of the galaxy. But where ever heaven is, most people think that you go to heaven when you die, I would disagree, because as a Christian I believe the Bible, which says that we are sleeping in the ground, and I interpret this to mean that you aren't in heaven, unless heaven is where you sleep for forever, and is under 7 feet of ground.
Heaven is argued about by many people, some believe that you will either go to hell, go to heaven, or go to purgatory, and then heaven. I believe that there is no hell, or purgatory. Some would say that, that means I believe that everyone everywhere is saved, but I do not believe so. I think that there is a heaven, which is the New Jerusalem in the bible, and that it will come down after the saved in Christ have been there for one thousand years. When it reaches the ground, Jesus will cause fire to fall from the sky, and to bubble up from the ground and burn everyone outside of the city, for a small amount of time, leaving Satan and his angels for last, then the fire is extinguished, and the world is remade.
I think that people should be happy that there is only a heaven, but also, scared enough of the fire, that they look to find God, and see that He is loving, and then follow Him out of their love for Him, not fear of Him. I think that the thought of heaven shouldn't be that you will instantly go to heaven when you die, but that heaven is the next thing you realize, because you have been asleep for forever.

Jesus's Death

There was a time in history, where nothing had color, and everyone was gray. The people didn't care about colors, because no one knew what they were. One day, aliens crashed onto Earth. They woke up from being unconscious, and looked around, they saw that there was no color and then looked at themselves. Certain spots of them were covered with the gray dirt. They tried to wipe it off, but even when it was wiped off, they stayed gray there. They talked among themselves, and decided to send out a radio signal to their home planet and to try to find a way to become colorful again.
After the beacon was running, they worked on every way they knew to become clean again. They rolled in butter, they bathed in milk, they threw tomatoes at each other. But they couldn't get the grey to come off, if anything it was getting worse from their running around, their feet were entirely grey. They were starting to think about swimming in the fuel tanks when they heard a response from their home planet, they had found them, but had not received clearance to descend to the surface.
The High Council had said that once the aliens were back to colors, they would be allowed to be beamed up. The aliens told the rescue ships that they had tried to remove the gray, but that nothing had worked. The ships radioed the High Council about this and got a response from the Supreme Elder. He said that they didn't know how to change it, if their own cleaning methods hadn't worked, but suggested that the crashed aliens contact the human leaders and see if they knew how. The aliens radioed the humans on the planet, and they said that they had a cure for the gray, but they had to use it far from anyone, because they liked their gray. The aliens said that their scans showed no one within 5 miles, and the humans told the aliens what to do.
The aliens thanked the humans, and radioed back to the fleet about what they had been told, the ships said to do it and the aliens began the list. "#1 Get down on knees, #2 Bow head, #3 Close eyes, #4 Talk to 'God', #5 ask for forgiveness from 'sins', #6 Ask him to inspire you with what to do, #7 Keep your mind and ears open" They finished the list and waited, very soon, they received communications from the Supreme Elder, that a citizen had come forward with a book that was supposed to say how to remove gray, and that it was going to arrive in a few minutes. Even though it wasn't on the list, they thanked the 'God' and waited for it to be beamed down to them.
In the first page was a note that said, "This book is the key to staying colorful, it holds the key to your safety from grey. If you cannot commit to loving the 'God' and reading his book (this book), you will become grey again like the humans, covered in your sins. When you finished talking to God you were colorful again, when you read this book, you accept colors again and again. Beware anyone who is grey, because they can cause you to sin without knowing it, but try to help them to become colorful again. -Jesus"
The aliens look down and see that they are not gray anymore, and radio to the fleet to be beamed up. They are taken up to the ships and go home. They get to their homes and find the news paper on the porch. They read the headlines and see that 'Jesus' is being killed for horrible crimes. They run to the execution hall and are there in time to see him being crucified, he dies on the cross and is let down. The crashed aliens ask for his body and they take him away to be burried.
A few days later they are eating breakfast when they hear footsteps in the hall. 'Jesus' walks in and they scream infright. He says, why do you scream, you should have read my book, it tells about me dieing and rising again. "I have come to say goodbye, I am going home to make a place for you to live with me, if you want. To get there you just need to read my book and stay colorful, anyways, goodbye!"

This is an interesting story, I thought that it was an interesting way to tell about the death of Jesus, and him saving us. If anyone wants, post a response to this for a blog and email me with a link to your site.

(5/12/11)- Rob Bell

Rob Bell, some call him a lunatic, some call him a hero. What ever you believe, we should be able to agree that he has made some good points. In his new book Love Wins, he talks about heaven and hell. He has a very Universalist view on God and the world. He has caused an explosion of hate mail, controversy, and discussion. People are asking the question, is there a hell? Rob Bell would like to argue that there is no hell, that in fact a loving God wouldn't let anyone burn forever. I believe that Rob Bell is right, that a God who loves us wouldn't let us burn forever.

Rob Bell has caused alot of publicity for this idea of no hell, and the church doesn't like it. They like having a hell, because it means that they can cause people to come to church, out of fear of hell. Without hell, they are afraid that not as many people will come to church. If no one comes to church without hell, then the church should have been doing a better job of converting people. Rob Bell is making good points, like what happens to babies or people who haven't heard of Jesus. Without a universal salvation then only the good get into heaven, but with it, then anyone who isn't bad will get into heaven. Both views have flaws, I believe, but they both have good points.

I cannot help but wonder what the adventists are thinking, with Rob Bell proposing these ideas. I am an adventist, and I believe that most of the adventists are feeling some shame. These views that Rob Bell is proposing, are the things that most Adventists have believed all along, yet they are coming as a shock to the rest of the world, showing how bad a job we are doing with spreading our beliefs. I believe, that we should have spread the word of God better and that if we had, this wouldn't be a big shock to the world. I hope that this is able to be corrected, because if we are going to spread the word, then we need to do it now.

In the case of our church, we are lacking in our spreading of our faith, and if we aren't spreading our faith, then doesn't that reflect on our belief of our faith. If our faith says that we should joyfully spread the gospel, and we aren't doing that enough that people know that we believe that our God is loving, that should do something for us, and make us want to share it! I cannot believe how stupid we are, saying we believe one thing, but only saying that among ourselves, and not among those who need it, the rest of the world! Thats all that I have, but I hope that this was something that affected you and that made you reconsider your faith and how you apply that!
